Women Empowerment Cell
The Women Empowerment Cell is established in the College campus to empower and safeguard the rights of female members of faculty, staff and students of the College.
The WEC works to promote gender sensitivity in the college and conduct diverse programmes to educate, sensitize both male and female members and produce harmonious atmosphere on the campus. It works for the welfare of the students and faculty towards preparing them in to competent professionals to take up greater challenges in the academic sphere.
Aiming at intellectual and social upliftment of the female students and staffs, the cell stands for facilitating women’s empowerment through guest lectures, seminars, awareness programmes and other welfare activities.
Objectives of WEC
To educate girl students on women specific health issues and measures to be taken.
To develop the self-confidence of women in building their capacity.
To identify and promote the strong leadership and growth of women as individuals in their own right.
Training the women to impart knowledge of opportunities and resources available to get backing support.
Creating social awareness about the problems of women, gender equity and prevention of sexual harassment.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
To create the awareness on the objectives of WEC amongst girl students for their enthusiastic participation.
To encourage women to undertake activities that strengthens their self-confidence.
To participate actively in the events and competitions organized by the cell and encourage other girl students to participate.
To empower female faculty, staff and students about general economic and social issues.
To review safety and security measures for female employees and girl Students.

Grievance Redressal cell
As per the rules and regulations addressed by the UGC / APSCHE, for student or other stake holders in an Institution, “Grievance Redressal Committee” has been constituted.
Objectives
-
To formulate the policy to investigate and review complaints or grievances of students and faculties.
-
To create awareness of availability of members for students and faculties to report grievances.
-
To investigate the cause of grievances.
-
To ensure effectual solution depending upon the gravity of the grievance.
Definitions of standard terminology :
-
“Act” means the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 (3 of 1956);
-
“aggrieved student” means a student who has any complaint in the matters concerned with the grievances defined under these regulations, and includes a person seeking admission to any institution of higher education;
-
“college” means any institution, whether known as such or by any other name, which provides for a course of study for obtaining any qualification from a university and which, in accordance with the rules and regulations of such university, is recognized as competent to provide for such course of study and present students undergoing such course of study for the examination for the award of such qualification;
-
“Commission” means the University Grants Commission established under section 4 of the UGC Act, 1956.

“grievances” include the following complaints of the aggrieved students, namely:
-
Demand of excess money other than that specified in the declared admission policy or approved by the competent authority to be charged by the institution;

Complaints of the students, from the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Minority or Disabled categories;
-
Non publication of prospectus/brochure, as specified;
-
Denial of quality education as promised at the time of admission or required to be provided;
-
Publishing any information in the prospectus, which is false or misleading, and not based on facts;
-
Non transparent or unfair evaluation practices;
“Grievance Redressal Committee” means a committee constituted under these regulations;
Anti-Ragging Committee
In view of the directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court in SLP No. 24295 of 2006 dated 16 th May 2007 and in Civil Appeal number 887 of 2009, dated 08 th May 2009 the Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE) has constituted the following committee to eradicate / prohibit the ragging.
Anti-Ragging Committee to ensure compliance with the provisions of Regulations as well as the provisions of any law for the time being in force concerning ragging; and also, to monitor and oversee the performance of the Anti-Ragging Squad in prevention of ragging in the institution. As per the order of Supreme Court of India and subsequent Notification from University Grants Commission (UGC), ragging constitutes one or more of any intention by any student or group of students on:
> Any act of Indiscipline, Teasing or Handling with Rudeness.
> Any act that Prevents, Disrupts the Regular Academic Activity.
> Any activity which is likely to cause Annoyance, hardship, Psychological Harm or creates Fear or Apprehension.
> Any Act of Financial Extortion or Forceful Expenditure.
> Any Act of Physical Abuse causing Assault, Harm or danger to Health.
> Any Act of abuse by spoken words, emails, SMS or public insult etc.
> Any Act of injury or infringement of the fundamental right to the human dignity.
> Any Act of Wrongful Confinement, Kidnapping, molesting or committing unnatural offences, use of criminal forces, trespass or intimidation.
> Any unlawful assembly or conspiracy to ragging.

Internal Complaints Cell
In compliance with the instructions of National Commission for women and guidelines issued in implementation of the directives of Hon'ble Supreme Court Judgement dated 13th August, 1997 on the subject of sexual harassment of women in the workplace, each department in this college has Internal Complaints Committees for making first approach by any women staff or student to have their grievances reported.
Our college is committed to inclusivity, evident in the all-female Internal Complaints Committees (ICCs) at college levels. Recognizing diverse challenges, this committee serve dual roles: a campus-wide committee for general issues and targeted departmental committees. These departmental committees also exist to address nuanced dynamics within academic units. By empowering women in leadership roles, the college underscores the importance of diverse perspectives in resolving gender-related concerns. This approach aligns with the institution's commitment to equality, conveying that addressing gender-related issues is a collective responsibility. In summary, the all-women ICCs, including departmental committees, exemplify our commitment to a discrimination-free environment, fostering gender equality campus-wide.

SC/ST Committee
Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) have been identified as the two most backward groups of Indian Society. They include all the castes, races or tribes, which have been socially, economically and educationally backward.
The cell has been established to support and to bring students from such communities in the main stream. The college takes special interest in facilitating financial support to students from these communities from government agencies and other sources. They are also encouraged to register for career orientation programs, which would equip them with the necessary skills to choose a career option.
SGDC has constituted SC/ST committee for prevention of caste-based discrimination in Higher Educational Institutions as per the guidelines prescribed by SV University.
